Chevrolet Camaro Collector's Edition

Chevrolet Camaro Collector’s Edition
Chevrolet Announces the Final Production Runs

Chevrolet will retire the sixth-generation Camaro in January 2024 after nine strong model years, offering a Collector’s Edition for keen buyers.

The Michigan-based factory at Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant will complete the final vehicle early next year, after selling hundreds of thousands of cars to the North American market.

Camaro’s Pedigree

The current generation of Camaro is well known for its poise and power on the road. Available in convertible and soft-top variants, it offers drivers a unique experience.

The top-of-the-line ZL1 1LE – the fastest street-legal Camaro on the market – generates more than 650 horsepower. It also set the quickest time ever for the model at the GM’s Milford Road Course in Michigan.

The Camaro’s success is due to its ability to negotiate even the most demanding track environments. The underlying design of the vehicle gives it impressive on-road performance while also picking up victories on race day and championships.

The Camaro Collector’s Edition

Chevrolet plans to celebrate the final days of the sixth-generation Camaro by offering the Collector’s Edition package on a supply-limited number of SS, RS, and ZL1 models in North America. The additions will be reminiscent of the 1960s “Panther” program that oversaw the development of the first generation of Camaros more than sixty years ago.

Chevrolet is currently tight-lipped about what the Collector’s Edition model features will include, confirming that it will provide more details closer to the start of orders this summer. The automaker says that high performance has been a part of its philosophy and brand since its founding. The Collector’s Edition Camaro continues a long line of power-centric vehicles, including the Corvette, Silverado ZR2 and Colorado.

The Story Continues

According to Scott Bell, vice president at Global Chevrolet, the Collector’s Edition of the sixth-generation Camaro is not the model’s swan song. While the company has not announced an immediate successor yet, “rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story,” Bell said.

Chevrolet has plans to keep the Camaro in operation on the track beyond 2023, confirming the long-term future of the brand. The firm is working with motorsports sanctioning bodies to ensure the vehicle retains its place at events over the coming years, including the NHRA drag racing and NASCAR stock car series.

Because production will finish in January 2024, Chevrolet will produce a limited run of sixth-generation Camaros in its final year. Therefore, buyers should register their interest as early as possible.
