However, two other options are available that increase power while also improving fuel efficiency. The hybrid powertrain is based around the same base engine but adds powerful motor-generators to increase the output to 219 horsepower. This option also switches the transmission to a smooth continuously variable design.

Lastly, the RAV4 Prime model is a full plugin hybrid which boosts the combined output to a hefty 302 horsepower, coupled with a maximum hybrid driving range of 979km or up to 68km in all-electric mode.

Available Advanced All-Wheel Drive

While every RAV4 model features all-wheel drive as standard, the hybrid trims offer a more advanced system based on dedicated electric motors for each wheel. Depending on the conditions, the torque is channeled automatically between front and rear to where it’s most useful, maximizing both traction and fuel efficiency.

The standard six-speaker audio can be upgraded to a premium JBL system with 11 speakers, while there’s also an optional wireless charging pad set between the driver and front passenger seats.
