All-New, All-Awesome
“The Lyriq charts the course for Cadillac’s future portfolio of electric vehicles. It does so with an initial thunderclap of style: With its abbreviated and raised tail, a broad laser-lit front end, vertical headlights and the stance of a cornerback, the Lyriq nails its styling assignment.” – Martin Padgett, The Car Connection
Cadillac makes a dramatic impression with its first-ever EV — the 2023 LYRIQ. While its driving might be whisper-quiet, the exterior style is a firework show for your eyes, harkening back to Cadillac’s initial design language. The front end is clean and cutting edge simultaneously, dramatically entering the road and drawing eyes.

Like the exterior, the LYRIQ’s cabin is tastefully designed and elaborate with upscale flair. This rich-looking interior features metallic brightwork intermingled with open-pore wood on the door panels and centre console. With the battery under the floor, the LYRIQ gets a spacious interior. It just doesn’t feel roomy, thanks to a wheelbase that is longer than the automaker’s flagship Escalade full-size SUV. This means plenty of legroom in both rows.
Technology Comes Standard
“In a nod to Cadillacs of old, the Lyriq is especially comfortable to drive, even on rougher pavement, and its interior is spacious and built to a lofty standard. This Caddy also comes packed with advanced tech and safety features, including the brand’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system.” – Zach Doell, U.S. News & World Report
The pièce de resistance of the LYRIQ’s cabin is a huge 33-inch touchscreen that spans across the dashboard, housing the driver information display and infotainment system. This curved advanced LED touchscreen can also be controlled by a click wheel on the centre console, and comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 19-speaker stereo system.
But Cadillac takes technology far beyond what you can see in the cabin. The automaker builds every LYRIQ with driver-assist features not found in the competition. This includes automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. It also includes the automaker’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system that allows the vehicle to take over driving duties on certain stretches of road.

Built to Drive
“The absence of a gasoline engine certainly helps create a quiet cabin, but the Lyriq also employs advanced noise cancellation technology to reduce road noise.” – Drew Dorian, Car and Driver
Sure, style and technology are great, but the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ can also drive. The LYRIQ is available in both a rear-wheel-drive form that delivers 340 horsepower and a dual-motor all-wheel drive form that delivers 500 horsepower. Handling is stable and competent, as well as fun. With a firm suspension, the LYRIQ keeps you in tune with the road in ways other EVs cannot. In terms of range, the LYRIQ can deliver up to 502 km per charge in the single-motor model, on par with other EVs.

A New, Bold Choice
The 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ is the automaker’s first foray into the EV market, and it banged out a home run. With style, grace, power, range, and much more, the LYRIQ includes everything you could ever want in an EV and then some.
